(Utica, NY – Nov. 2013_ The Utica Public Library will be hosting Contemplating Women – Visualizing Self, paintings and sculpture by Sheila Smith, from Dec. 6 to Jan. 30 in the library gallery.
The exhibit will cover works from the past 15 years.
There will be an Artist’s Reception on Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Due to the upcoming holidays, purchases may be claimed at the time of sale.
Smith’s main goal has been contemplating women through portrait and allegory, creating expressive works that reveal tension, relationships, and irony.
